CCW Ban by Governor

Gentlemen: Once again we are seeing unconstitutional infringement on the 2nd Amendment Rights of citizens by this Governor's unilateral action to ban lawful and authorized CCW  in government offices. This is just playing to the choir of those who want to not only ban CCW carry but ALL guns. When is government going to realize that it is not not guns that kill but the people with the guns who are criminally inclined or have some type of mental disorde. It is not the lawful citizen that has a CCW and wants to exist peacefully in a nation that is racked with violence and in some cases hatred that is causing all the problems. The founding Fathers saw the need to add the 2nd Amendment to insure the citizen had the right and the means to defend himself and his family from criminals and those who would inflict harm on others without just cause. It was also enacted to prevent the worst kind of violence against the citizen. A tyrannical and dictorial government was of the utmost importance to the pasage of the 2nd Amendment. There are politicians who fear an armed citizenry for this very reason. The citizen has an inalienable right to have the means to protect themselves from an over zealous government body. Just ask King George if you doubt the truth of this premise. You cannot reasonably think that disarming a lawful citizen will have any effect on those intent on doing harm to others be they criminals, terrorists or the mentally ill. If all laws worked against these unlawful acts then so would the laws against theft, drug abuse, white collar crime be removed from out society. The anti-soclal element in society will always find the means to carry out unlawful acts and the tools necessary to accomplish such behavior. No matter how hard government tries to control every aspect of our lives it will never be able to eliminate or even reduce unlawful acts. The means to the unlawful end will always be found. In this time when our country is under daily threat from terrorist activity it is fool hardy to even speculate that making citizens defenseless will curtain criminal violence by those intent on carrying out violent against other citizens. The legislature sought to reduce domestic violence through creating a "Protective Order" system but quickly learned that a piece of paper will not stop a fist, a knife, a rock,or a bullet from reaching out to a victime sheltered by this device. The lawful citizen must be prepared and, if necessary armed with a gun, to protect themselves when government clearly cannot be present in all cases to provide such defenses. I stronly oppose any government action that seeks to violate a critical element of our nation's Bill of Rights or the U.S. Constitution. I abhor violence on all levels but "feel good" actions such as seeking to ban or restrict guns that are clearly protected instruments from being in the hands of a lawful citizen is not a logical or common sense approach to curtailing violence. Violence that in part is CREATED BY GOVERNMENT ACTIONS THEMSELVES! Virginia needs a change in citizen attitudes and the return of a moral compass that ALL citizens can believe in to stop violent criminal behavior. I am keenly aware that civilization has had violent persons in our midst from the beginning of time and this will always be a fact. Don't unarm the lawful citizen who wants nothing more that to protect themselves and their families from the violent msicreants just to satisfy an idealistic and unrealistic approach to curbing violence. Enforce the laws our elected representatives have passed and you will see a reduction in violence and stop wasting taxpayer monies to enact more unconstitutional actions to "look good politically" but fail to address the underlying problem of anti-social human behavior. Just a quick thought, the "black market" will always be available to arm those who possess an intent to do harm to others. You can't stop it but you can insure that the lawful citizens have the means to combat the actions of the criminal and/or terrorist attempting to do harm. Again, stop this Governor and his PC actions from invalidating our Constitutional Rights to self-preservation.GUNS DO NOT KILL, HUMANS DO!
