Decision by the Attorney General

Thank you for your decision to end the reciprocity agreements.   It is crazy to think that someone can carry a concealed weapon in our state without following our states lawful requirements.   It is wrong for someone from Virginia to be able to go to a less restrictive state and get a carry permit and use it in Virginia, just as someone from Virginia should not be able to go to Outer Mongolia and get a drivers license and expect it to be valid here.  It is also wrong to allow people to come to our state with a concealed weapon without following guidelines of our state.   It the other states want reciprocity then they should improve their regulations.

Also - for all you people who believe that the 2d Amendment gives you the right and even responsibility to carry a weapon your person in all locations, I pray that you are trained properly to use it, use it only when absolutely necessary and that you don't shoot yourself or any innocent people in your zest to prove your own safety. Please let trained law enforcement personnel be the ones to deal with dangerous situations.
