I was a soldier, am a parent, Govt employee, and active member of my community.  I do not agree that law-abiding American citizens be disarmed at any time against their wishes.  I would carry a handgun to my federal office building if allowed and would defend myself and coworkers against a hostile force.  America's defensive strategy is in part based on deterrance. If an enemy thinks you may be able to shoot back they are less likely to attack.  I think individuals were granted this same right by our Constitution.  The answer to mass murder fun violence is not disarming good samaritans.
