Virginians have a right to self-defense; even in government buildings

This proposed regulation is a solution looking for a problem. It will create a situation whereby governmental building will become easier targets for evil people to do evil deeds. We’ve have no shootings in state agencies and this prohibition on those with a CHP is entirely without justification and could needlessly and recklessly endanger innocent lives.

This regulation will have zero affect on terrorist, criminals and the mentally disturbed. They don’t play by the same rules as law-abiding citizens. It does not make anyone safer. It will, however, endanger state employees, law abiding citizens, and the innocent.

Further, I do not believe the Governor has the authority for this regulation. If the General Assembly wanted the Governor to have such power, they would have granted it to him explicitly, as is required constitutionally.

This regulation should not be approved and the emergency regulation withdrawn.

Please extended the comment period for another 30 days.
