The current temporary ban to carry guns is an affront to law abiding citizens who have a constitutional right to protect themselves by arming themselves.  If banning guns in certain areas or establishing gun free zones ever actually stopped criminals or mentally unbalanced individuals from committing heinous acts then there might be a debate worth having.  Our unalienable rights protect us as US citizens.  You are elected officials sworn to act for the people by the will of the people.  You do not have a right to decide what is or is not a right of law abiding citizens on your own whim.  We are not your children, we are the people that you work for.  Do your job!
