Gun ban in Executive branch state agencies

The gun ban in Executive branch state agencies was passed in order to appease voters who support gun control as well as wealthy campaign donors who back further gun control efforts.  In addition, other gun control efforts could not get passed through the VA House of Delegates or Senate, so this executive order was passed in order to appease those gun control entities and show that the Governor is doing “something” in order to keep us safe.
