I disagree with the Governor's state agency gun ban!

Gun free zones have proven to be ineffective. An individual with ill intent does not care about the law, and will violate it to satisfy his or her desire to harm others. All this ban will do is render law abiding citizens, who work at or visit state run agencies, defenseless should such an individual carry out an attack. Our citizens should be encouraged to arm themselves for self protection and the protection of others. Keeping them from arming themselves only increases their dependence on the government, as it puts them at the mercy of law enforcement's response time. An armed and well trained citizenry is the best defense against terrorist and criminal acts, not a defensless population. Sheriffs all across the country are encouraging their citizens to arm themselves, yet the Governor of our state is suggesting disarmament? I prefer the idea of the subject matter experts here, not the idea of the one who plans on creating target rich environments.
