Disarming good men and women does not make them safer. Guns are only dangerous if they are in the wrong hands. Criminals, especially violent ones, do not obey gun laws. The governor has no constitutionally granted power to take this action, and it will eventually be overturned in the courts. This regulation creates more "gun-free-zones" which are "soft targets" for criminals and terrorists alike. Almost all active shooter incidents occur in gun free zones. This regulation also bans off duty police from carrying their firearm. There are people who have concealed handgun permits who also have ongoing threats to their lives. This regulation would disarm those people and other innocent gun owners in a variety of situations. There is no cause for this action other than fear mongering. This is not "common sense" gun control. This lacks any kind of sense especially considering how concealed carry permit holders have a crime rate (per capita) compareable to or lower than actual law enforcement officers. There is no reason to fear a law-abiding firearm owner. And even less reason to fear a firearm owner who possesses a concealed handgun permit.
