I decided to stay in Virginia following a 20 year career in the United States Navy because of the strong rights and trust placed in its citizens and it was pro business.

The Governor's ban on guns in executive buildings is against all that and does not make anyone safer.

Passing this ban isn't about the citizens of Virginia but about Governor Terry McAuliffe's political aspirations after office.

If he is trying to make us safer, he needs to reduce the number of gun free zones in the state.  Gun free zones are where all but two mass shootings have occured since 1950 something.

If you ban people from storing guns in their cars while visiting state agencies, you are forcing people to be unarmed for their entire trip, which makes their lives less safe.

And if you ban guns from the rest stops, you are now making rest stops the number one place for robberies and make not only Virginians less safe, but travelers from other states.  How that affects their travel I do not know, but it can't make stopping in Virginia a choce high on their list.

Since this will probably not stand up in court, why is the Governor wasting the time of the legislature and the money of the people.  If the Governor wants to make this law, why not partner up with someone in the legislature and get something passed?

This looks more and more like grandstanding, and posturing to reduce safety of the citizens of the state of Virginia so someone can have a bullet point (irony meant) for their resume for future political aspirations.
