Gun Ban

The Governor's ban in Virginia's government buildings does nothing to reduce shootings. Actually, these so called "gun free zones" leave law abiding citizens even more subject to harm and/or death as they are not able to defend themselves or others. Time after time these criminals, terrorists and/or mentally deranged people chose these gun free zones to carry out their evil deeds.

It has been said many times before and it is very true: "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun". Why doesn't the Governor and folks like him understand this.

Being able to defend ourselves is a right guaranteed in the Constitution, not a privilege. Therefore, I believe the Governor is infringing on that right.

It seems the Governor is hypocritical since he is protected by folks with, guess what, guns. Is his life more important than the rest of us? I think not. All life matters, not just his.

Guns are not the problem. People with evil intent are the problem. More gun control laws are not the the answer. The states with the strictest gun control laws are where most of the shootings have occurred.

The worst school massacre happened in 1927, in Bath, MI. Thirty eight children and 6 adults lost their lives AND no gun was involved in the killings. The perpetrator used dynamite. The point being, no matter what, people intent on killing others will find a way. People have been killing people since time began, long before guns were invented. The point being; why leave folks defenseless when these criminally minded people will find a way to inflict death on others.

Lift this ban immediately and let's work on something that will reduce the maiming and killing.

It can't be denied that the states with the most guns have the lowest crime rates.

It's only common sense, unfortunately it seems common sense is not very common these days.
