My feelings about female reproductive rights

At age 69, I was here when women had NO control over our reproductive life!  At the time, employers were hesitant to hire young married women.  If you got pregnant, you could no longer work once the pregnancy began to show (about 4 months).  There was no real birth control, so you held your breath each month.

I never had an abortion, but know that there are instances when it needs to be available.  In any case, it is not the job of the STATE to make those kind of decisions.  The woman alone has that responsibility along with her doctor or significant other as she wishes.  How would men feel if a largely female legislature decided the proper course of treatment for prostate cancer?  Or the use of Viagra and other enhancing drugs?

The current Republican interest in controlling female cancer screening, the use of birth control and other reproductive needs is a losing proposition.  Men control their bodies and cannot imagine it any other way.  Women feel the same way - Stay out of my reproductive organs and my decisions!
