Pro-choice advocates refer to keeping abortion SAFE and legal.  If we want to make it safe, then requiring that abortion facilities follow reasonable guidelines to ensure cleanliness and safety is necessary.  TRAP will not interfere with access to legal abortion. It will only ensure that abortion facilities live up to standards that should be in place for any facility that provides healthcare services, particularly surgical services.  Any facility that cannot live up to these standards is not safe, and should not be providing any medical care.
