Dear VA Board of Health Members. I am writing to express my concern over the health and safety standard violations that have occurred in the abortion center industry in VA. It is my understanding that there have been a many a 300 mutiple health and safety violations over the past 2 years ranging from blood found on examination table, unsterilzied needles, impaired and incomplete lifesaving equipment. There have also been numerous violations of parental consent laws, failure to report child abuse and various forms of construction violations that have frequently made it difficult or impossible for emergency personnel to expediently respond to medical emergencies and the need for transport during such emergencies. These sorts of deficiencies put those who choose to use this industry in health and safety jeopardy and significant risk. The abortion industry has adequate revenues to come into compliance with reasonable safety standards. I hope that you will consider this important issue, in light of the safety women and VA citizens and uphold the needed safety standards. Linda Marshall
