Uphold Standards, Protect Women

Board of Health,

The topic of abortion is a political issue, but the health of a woman who chooses to avail herself of this resource must not be. The surgical procedure of an abortion is unique to women, and known only to men in the abstract. If women are not afforded the same health and safety protections given to each citizen in the state for their every other medical need does it not single them out as somehow unworthy of those protections" Are they not then placed in a subordinate position to those who do not desire or do not need the surgery" Whatever our opinions on abortion, this is about the health of women and a clinic that performs a medical procedure on them must be held to the same standards as any other in the state of Virginia.
