Abortion clinics are ambulatory surgical centers. That is fact.

Any new ambulatory surgical center that is established must be built to comply with standards of medical health expected by the residents of Virginia. That is fact.

The question is why would you NOT hold older centers to the same standards of health?

Would YOU go to a laser eye surgery center that is not required to be updated to basic standards of health?

Would YOU select knee surgery at a center that was unwilling to offer its patients basic standards of health?

The politics here is that there is even a QUESTION about not holding centers that perform abortions to the same standards as any other ambulatory surgical center. Department of Health, please ensure that the women of Virginia receive the best care and safe environments that are possible. Uphold the standards.
