More regulations not needed

These types of regulations are not medically justified. Abortion is one of the safest and most commonly provided medical procedures in the United States. Few abortion patients experience a complication requiring hospitalization. There is no evidence that abortions would be safer in another setting, or that abortions are performed inadequately in outpatient facilities.

These TRAP regulations create a large burden for small outpatient clinics. As they are intended to do. This is just a back door attempt to shut down clinics by those who disapprove of them. Abortion is already regulated.  All health care facilities, including abortion providers, are required to comply with a variety of federal and state regulations.

If there is a true concern for public health, make these regulations apply to ALL outpatient clinics. For example, patients are put under general anesthetic during oral surgery in office park clinic facilities that would in no way comply with these TRAP regulations. That's a much riskier procedure than an abortion, yet I see no rush to protect those patients. Because it's not about protecting patients, it's about restricting women's access to what should be a confidential medical procedure.

Everyone knows that enactment of this type of legislation has little to do with protecting public health. It is specifically intended to discourage health care providers from offering abortion care, as well as imposing an undue burden on a woman's right to seek an abortion. It's a blatant attempt to shut down clinics providing a completely legal medical procedure.
