Even if abortion is legal, it is not safe unless done in a safe manner. To protect women from infection, undue pressure, and psychological after-effects, abortion clinics must meet the same standards as those required for out-patient surgical centers, because that is what they are. I say this as a nurse, mother, and woman who once had an anortion.
