I am in strong support of the safety standards set out by the VA Dept of Health. I am an Ob Gyn at VCU and understand and know of the needs for high standards for outpatient surgeries such as abortions and the needs for sterile conditions. In addition, there needs to be very clear emergency plans when a dilatation and curettage has a complication or requires transfer of a patient.
