I am concerned that reasonable and appropriate standards to outpatient surgical centers are controversial.The responsibility of the Board is appropriate oversight of health and safety. If that happens to be uncomfortably political incorrect, then please choose to support taking care of patients. There is sufficient evidence that standards are necessary given inspections violations that have been recorded over the past couple of years.This is not a hard decision, I am sorry if it is not popular. Fortunately, popularity is not part of the responsibility of the Board of Health; taking care of people is. W. Kevin Watterson MD
