TRAP laws

It is essential to reconsider TRAP laws.  I was at a protest in Richmond where Doctors were threatened into recanting their sound medical opinion.  The outcome has been detrimental to the health of thousands of Virginia women.  TRAP laws are obviously intended for one purpose- to try to circumvent the Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade and impose religious beliefs on all women, based NOT ON SOUND MEDICAL FACT, but based solely upon MORAL OBJECTIONS to a law in place.  Making abortion inaccessible endangers the lives of women.  That should come before religious belief.  A woman's bodily integrity is inviolable until such a time as the fetus can survive on its own.  Making the procedure unavailable only endangers lives.

In addition, the refusal to expand Medicaid to Virginians makes certain that poor women in Virginia have no options for reliable birth control or medical care.  Closing Planned Parenthood only adds to that burden.
