parents should have rights

We know are children better than anyone.  We have stressed over obstacles and smiled over accomplishments. Learning what is best for our child to make it in todays world.  As our children grow... they've moved into new schools, staff changes at times, teachers, aides... all have different views or come and go as they districts see needed.  But despite all of that and whomever comes to the table when we all meet... no one knows our child like us, the parent.  They need parental consent and signeratures to register them in school.  No where on this form does it state we are 'giving them our children'.  When you take your child to the doctor...  a respectable degree in hand... he/she still converses with the parent regarding the 'best treatment' for our child to include parent input.  Parent still have the right to question or ask another opinion and choose the best treatment for their child.  What makes the schools think that the parents are not important or anything BUT the #1 person at the IEP meetings who knows whats best for the child?
