Support Dry Needling By Physical Therapists

Trigger Point Dry Needling is with in the scope of practice for Physical Therapists.  It is not the practice of Acupuncture nor does performing it constitute practicing As an Acupuncturist or practicing Acupuncture.  Trigger Point Dry Needling is a single treatment modality that is with in the scope of practice of a Physical Therapist.  The education of a Physical Therapist covers  the training a Physical Therapist needs to perform the technique of Dry needling with the addition of the added training specified in the new regulation.  I support the passage of this new regulation to govern the practice of Dry Needling and appreciate the work the Board work group has done to formulate this regulation.
