Women Deserve Better Than Unregulated or Minimally Regulated Abortion Clinics

Women deserve better than substandard medical care when getting an abortion.  Abortion is an invasive medical procedure with risk of infection and other significant complications (punctured uterus).  If proper sterilization techniques are not followed for abortion instruments blood borne diseases can easily be passed from patient to patient.   Just because abortion risks are deemed to be "rare" does not mean that women don't deserve facilities that conform to reasonable health and safety standards.  It is an outpatient surgery so should conform to the same standards as any other outpatient surgery center.  Women exercising their right to abortion deserve quality medical care.
