The current landscape of healthcare presents daily challenges in the provision of patient care. The CNS specialty supports care driven by evidenced based practice, quality initiatives, and ensuring safe patient care. The CNS role is often seen as a leadership position as they use their expertise and skill to help drive practice changes throughout their organizations. The CNS should be able to practice to the full extent of their licensure to support the provision of high quality, evidenced based care in the state of Virginia. I fully support the recommendations to revise the practice authority of the CNS in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
