I am CNS student who is slated to graduate this May and plan on passing my boards during the summer.

The CNS is considered an advanced practice nurse, as are nurse practitioners, midwives, and anesthetists. However, we do not have the same prescriptive privilege as our counterparts. Without more independence in our practice, we are shoehorned into educator roles, yet we can do much more. I hope that this legislation will help to expand our practice.
