Coal/Hybrid Electrical Power Plants

Please know that I am opposed to the closing of coal fired and coal/hybrid electrical generating stations such as the one located at Virginia City, VA.  The effluent from this plant is as "clean" as present technology permits.  And, since billions were spent in its construction, if it - or any plants like it - is forced to close, those costs will obviously be passed down to the electical consumers with only marginal, if any at all, improvement in air quality.  Those who are following this discussion know very well that the supposed causal link with climate change is anything but "settled science" and reasonable trade-offs must be made for Virginia and the nation to have the needed energy to support a robust economy.
