TRAP not medically sound

I believe that it is important for the Virginia Board of Health, in order to have credibility, to use evidence-based medicine when reviewing the TRAP regulations. A quick review of the regulations shows that there is no jusitfiable reason based in medical science that abortion providers must regulate abortion providers with the same mesauring stick that they regulate hospitals.  These requirements seem to be grounded in socio-religious beliefs and superstitions about abortion and the need of the political majority to control a woman's right to choose to explore abortion as a medical decision. In addition, by imposing onorous  restrictions, many of the  doctors’ offices and clinics will not be able to function. That will not only curtail abortion services but it will prevent women, especially poor women, from receiving access to healthcare, including cancer screenings and birth control. I believe that these restrictions, place an undue and unequal burden on Virginia's women. I urge the Board of Health to heed the expertise of doctors, medical professionals and legal experts as they review that TARP restrictions.
