Call it whatever you want but dry needling is part of acupuncture

Acupuncture is using needles on local and distal area of the body. Dry needling is not a seperate entity but part of acupuncture. Calling it another name does not give rights for Physiotherapist. FDA labels acupuncture needles as a Class II medical device that is restricted to registered acupuncturist only. Without any regulation or standardization, I cannot condone changing a name and applying needles on to patients to be safe.
