Yes to dry needling by PTs!

Physical therapy is an ever-evolving field that has progressed to a doctorate level education. These practitioners spend endless hours studying, learning, and understanding in-depth Anatomy and the inner workings of the body. They are, in fact, the experts in the field of the musculoskeletal system. Those that work in orthopedic settings have the full support of orthopedic surgeon to conservatively treat their patients. Some physical therapist go beyond their doctorate to become certified in additional techniques that have been found useful for the healing of the body. I have had techniques such as the graston technique and dry needling performed to my back by licensed, certified physical therapists. I must say that I have complete confidence in physical therapists to perform these tasks confidently. Please allow physical therapist to continue with the practice of dry needling such that other people may benefit like I did. Dry needling is not the same as acupuncture and therapist are not putting acupuncturist out of work simply because they have added additional techniques to their field. Again, please support doctors of physical therapy and acknowledge their intelligence they worked so hard to attain.
