No to dry needling

Please consider the safety of the public when deciding the ruling over dry needling. To become a licensed acupuncturist one must go through extensive classroom and clinical training in order to practice safely. Many injuries have occurred from dry needling by practitioners who take weekend courses without supervised clinical training. Dry needling is outside the scope of practice for physical therapists and if they want to practice acupuncture (which is the insertion of acupuncture needlies) they should complete an acupuncture program to be licensed like the rest of us.
