Acupuncture is myofascial release, the PT profession is trying to discredit acupuncture

The theory of acupuncture training has alwats veen to release tissue pain and dysfunction. The PT profession, by asserting that this is somehow different because they are using different terms to describe it, are attempting to reduce it to a limited training and discredit a tradition that requires a deep understaning to perform correctly. Just as I would not try to prescribe exercise protocols because I have an undrstaning of mkvement therapy from my acupuncture training, I firmly stand by the belief that PTs should refer to licensed acupuncturists if they feel acuouncture needling would be a helpful technique. The next logical step if this legislature passes is that ALL acupuncturists are already qualified as 'dry needling' practitioners and should be referred all patients as such, along with credentials and reimbursement, doctors referrals et cetera. I believe the scope of practice by Physical Therapists is being greatly overstepped. I urge the legislators to not pass this proposal and protect the Scope of Practice of Licensed Acupuncturists
