Dry needling by my physical therapist helped me immensely.  The therapy forced my muscles to relax when my calf muscles had gotten so tight that I couldn't flex my ankle enough to walk normally.  Stretching was horribly painful and ineffective.  After a couple of dry needling sessions my calf relaxed enough that I could walk.
