An enthusiastic Yes to Dry Needling by trained Physical Therapists

Physical therapy that includes dry needling have been very effective for me as a patient.

Over the years I have had physical therapy for a number of injuries.  Sometimes strengthening and stretching exercises alone have been sufficient, but on other occasions it has been very helpful to me as a patient if the physical therapist also possesses the training to perform dry needling for those situations where it can be helpful.

Five years ago I broke my neck and the long road to recovery included several months of physical therapy with a therapist in Alexandria, Virginia.  The combination of strenghtening and stretching exercises along with dry needling was very effective.  At one stage during the recovery my physical therapist mentioned about the technique of dry needling and said that he thought it might be helpful in my situation.  I was willing to give it a try, and was so happy that I did, as the results vastly improved my range of motion.

Now when I seek out a physical therapist I prefer a therapist that possess the training so that dry needling is an additional tool in their physical therapy toolbox.
