In support of dry needling

Dry needling is an effective approach to healing. I have received it many times by my PT and have benefitted from its effects. What I do not appreciate nor benefit from, is Virginia's restrictions on its use and accessibility to patients. I should not be required to receive a doctors recommendation to obtain physical therapy treatment, nor should I have to jump through this hoop again in order for the PT to perform dry needling. This is a waste of my time and money and it's assuming that the certified and educated PTs are not cabable of assessing their patients accordingly. Stop restricting access to effective treatments.

Acupuncture and dry needling are two very different treatments and cannot be lumped into the same pracricr. The insertion of the needles are very different and the education for the procedure is also very different. Lumping them toggerher makes no sense.
