Yes to PT Provided Dry Needling

The purpose of medicine is to heal.

I have received dry needling from a Doctor of Physical Therapy.  The possible risks were explained, the areas to be avoided were explained, the muscles that were treated were called out, the treated areas were sterilized, and the equipment new and discarded in medical waste containers each time.

The treatment worked for me and I, the patient, could receive all my treatment in one place and it was covered by my existing insurance.

I understand that acupuncturists and their lobbying groups want to protect their livelihoods - but at the cost of patients receiving medicine that works?  If the issue is training as many have claimed, then correct it.  If it is safety concerns, then fix them.  1000s of patients in Virginian will thank you by allowing dry needling to continue in our great state.
