Dry Needling: Performed by professionals

Dry needling is performed by Doctors of PT. They are knowledge clinically, anatomically, and physiologically to perform trigger point dry needling safely and effectively. They are skilled in neurological, muscular, and skeletal movements and treat with modalities such as dry needling. Even though dry needling and acupuncture use similar devices, dry needling has different goals of treatment, clinical reasoning, and techniques. The current regulations from the Virginia Board of Physical Therapy are sufficient to protect and ensure public safety and should be fully enacted. I am a PT Assistant and have treated many patients who have had dry needling by our physical therapist and have been personally treated myself, and the majority of results are very positive.
