Dry needling is Trigger points acupuncture.  TP acupuncture  is part of acupuncture that we call Ah-Shi acupuncture. I do not deny its efficacy. I use it every day as acupuncturist. From a regulatory and legislative standpoint, dry needling is indistinguishable from acupuncture. Therefore if professions get dry needling into their scope they automatically achieve acupuncture in scope. Therefore dry needling needs to be regulated as if it were acupuncture and dry needling education should be benchmarked to existing acupuncture standards.
