Dry Needling is Acupuncture

Most dry needling courses involve only one or two weekends of training. Whereas Acupuncturist in Virginia are required to have at least 1,365 hours of acupuncture, 705 hours of acupuncture-specific didactic material AND 660 hours of supervised clinical training.

Oppose the unethical use of dry needling as it is involves insertion of the same FDA- regulated acupuncture needles into the same "TRIGGER POINTS" that are used in acupuncture. If Physical Therapists want to needle, they should be held accountable to meet the same education/requirements as acupuncturists and sit for the NCCAOM exams.
