PTs have the necessary skill set to perform DN

As a Physical Therapist in Virginia I support Dry needling by Physical Therapists. The "additional" hours of Dry needling training bulds upon the 1000's of hours necessary to obtain a Physical Therapy license.  To say that Physical Therapists do not have the requisite anatomical, physiological and medical knowledge needed to safely and effectively perform this technique is simply invalid.  As an educator in a DPT program, I can state that the anatomical foundation necessary to perform this skill is thoroughly instructed in the Physical Therapy educational cirriculum.
