Dry needling is acupuncture without proper training.

With over 860 clinical hours of practice, an acupuncturist is far superior to a PT in terms of needling capabilities. We both learn body mechanics, anatomy, and physiology. That is where the similarities end. To allow dry needling for Physical therapist's endangers patients safety. It also lessens the effectiveness of the treatment since there are years of studying the mechanism of action for each point and the combinations used to treat various ailments or a multitude of ailments which all lead to one core diagnosis. It would be impossible to learn this information in a seminar style learning environment.
