Dry needle or wet needle is just playing with words. Dry needling is the one of acupuncture techniques( the same tool insert the same spot). Without enough training it can be a serious safety issue. I think if you are just using heating pads or ice pads it is ok without training. The patient can even apply heating pads or ice pads by themselves at home. But when you put needles in the body, you need to know what you are doing; you need to be properly trained. When it comes to the safety of the patient, and there is a problem; who is to blame, the people who did it or the people who allowed them to do it?
