I fully support the practice of dry needling in Virginia. Dry needling is not only an effective intervention for the treatment of myofascial pain, but it is an evidence-based intervention. Furthermore, current physical therapy professional preparation programs along with continuing education in dry needling provide therapists with an adequate background in human anatomy and physiology to safely perform this intervention with minimal risks.
