tAs an registed acupunctrist. We are not just take thousand hours training. We have license exam, and continue education on acupuncture practice. Acupunctrist is regulated profession as physical therapist! Can we take 54 hours training to take PT 's scope of modality? I don't think PT will say yes! 

Not just short hours training PT get to  practice DN(acupuncture) !  There is no exam to test them if they really get this 54 hours information ! And there is no continue education request for PT to practice DN( acupuncture)! 

PT has bunch theory to backup their dry needling! But those explanations are anything new , neither from physical thherapist! As an acient medical practice, acupuncture has it's own meridian theory to explain how it worked . And in the past 50 years or more. Different medical research has pointed how the acupuncture worked in a modern scientific way. Musculoskeletal system was able to be stimulated by acupuncture needle is just one of the fact how the acupuncture worked! It is not a new discovery or invention as PT said about it ! 

As an invasive and effective medical practice, acupuncture has been adopted by American's medical society !  Everyone wants to learn and use it at their practice ! We all understand and are welcome ! But , change name to dry meddling , so can do a short course, go back door entry into such serious medical practice , is a medical fraud !  As a patient , none of them can tell what is the different between the acupuncture and dry needling, unless the practioner tell them ! 

Stop playing the words!  Physical Therapist!  Take your time learning acupuncture ! Help your patients seriously ! Not fool them with this 54 hours without passing exam joke course !
