Licensed acupuncturists are requi red 900 clinical hours of training, 2700 total hours of education, with 300 patients. PT acupuncture with severely undertrained individuals would be a public safety hazard. This is not a standard that would help the public. I do appreciate offering acupuncture to more patients, but this effort would devalue and undermine the current standard for safety in dry needling.
