Oppose Dry Needling

Please note a recent peer review in the British Medical Journal stating that Dry Needling is Acupuncture.  L.Ac are required to pass a 2700+ hour program, complete a Clean Needling Exam and 3 boards to ensure safety from infection and organ puncture.  PTs are allowed to practice after 8 hours of lecture and 8 hours of practice. They are not assessed on competence.  Even MDs are asked to take 300+ hours.  How is that fair? Even the Illinois Dept of Regulations and Licensing came out in Feb 2014 and confirmed that Dry Needling is Acupuncture.   Again, as stated in the British Medical Journal, Dry Needling has been and still is Acupuncture.  When the Medical Associations worldwide confirm that Dry Needling is Acupuncture, how is it that PTs are not held to the same standard.  http://aim.bmj.com/content/early/2015/12/15/acupmed-2015-011010.long
