Dry Needling = Acupuncture

Physical therapists should not be allowed to do acupuncture/dry needling without the 2000+ minimum hours acupuncturists are required to do in the United States. Any acupuncturist worked very very hard to achieve their degree and level of skill. A physical therapist should stick to what they do best, and let the acupuncturists do what they do best. Stop it with the double billing of insurance! This whole mess is all about PT's double billing for PT and acupuncture!! Get it?

Ninty-four hours of training is ridiculous, unsafe and hazardous to the public. Such behavior has already to be proven to be unsafe and has generated millions of dollars in lawsuits because acupuncture cannot be practiced by poorly-trained persons without causing injury and lawsuits.

Keep these professions separated and don't be fooled by the term "dry needling" – it was created to pretend it is not like acupuncture, to fool legislators and their staff! Don't be fooled.

Thanks, Mark Kuebel. I have been practicing 14 years.
