Misconception of poor PT education on Dry Needling

A clarification to multiple posts on this board stating that "56 hours is not enough for a physical therapist to safely perform dry needling."  This 56 hour training is in addition to the Doctor of Physical Therapy degree that is required as well as the year of practice that is currently needed to even attend th 56 hour training.  A recent report by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapists state that specialized muscle palpation and psychomotor skills required to handle a needle are the only skills that aren't taught to PTs in entry level programs.  A 56 hour class is more than satisfactory to teach these two skills as well as reinforcing other past skills already learned in an entry level program.
