Dear Board of Physical Therapy,
I have been practicing for over 10 years as a licensed acupuncturist. I adamently object to the intent to allow Physical Therapists to perform "dry needling" techniques which are pretty similar to acupuncture treatment. I am very concerned to the saftety of the general public about the dry needling techniques done by PTs as they are not well-trained or qualified to perform this treatment. 54 hours of dry needling training is a completely inadequate level of training to qualify a physical therapist to safely insert acupuncture needles into patients and the regulations therefore are a serious threat to public safety. Thank you very much for considering this.
Sincerely,
Teerawong Kasiolarn, ND, MSAc, LAc.
