I am in strong support of dry needling by physical therapists. We have extensive training in anatomy, physiology, and palpatory skills that are more than enough to provide safe, effective dry needling treatment. Dry needling does not infringe on the scope of acupunturists because it is a different technique, different theoretical basis, and different goal/care plan. As healthcare practitioners, we need to provide as many safe and effective treatments for our patients as possible. Dry needling by physical therapists has been proved to be safe AND effective. Why not provide this service to our patients? Thank you for you consideration.
