Support Physical therapists to use Dry Needling!

Dear Board;

Physical Therapists are highly educated medical professionals.  They are trained in treating neurological and musculoskeletal systems.  I had the good fortune to be treated by a Physical Therapist last year who had been practicing as a licensed PT for over 20 years and she had recently been certified in Dry Needling.  This was extensive training on top of the years of experience in treating musculoskeletal problems.  I found relief with dry needling almost immediately for something that had been causing me pain for over a year.  She was able to use the dry needling as an adjunct to exercise and education.  I believe that physical therapists are safe to provide this technique to the public.  As a doctoring profession they have the education and knowledge needed to be safe and to help the public with pain relief.  Dry needling is a wonderful new modality that complements treatment options. Thank you, Katherine Baucom
